I am exhausted. I have been so tired that nearly every night this week I was in bed by 8:30 and have done nothing else but sleep and work. By the end of each day the only energy that I had left was spent walking myself home, getting into pajamas, feeding myself dinner and laying down. Nothing extra.
This week kicked my butt.
So the best way to spend a Saturday after the longest and most tiring week ever would be to go spend an hour jumping up and down at a trampoline gym…
In hindsight, it probably wasn’t the smartest idea ever. However, seeing Chris bouncing up and down with an ear-to-ear grin and reliving precious moments of my childhood (both embarrassing and joyful) made it worthwhile. Plus, Chris has inspired multiple 5 year old boys to learn to do flips like him and instilled equal panic in their mothers.
Although we had an amazing time jumping into the foam pit and roaming like children, it’s safe to assume that we won’t be feeling like children tomorrow. In fact, I can already feel the soreness in my legs and the aching in my neck. And, I am oh so tired.
Before I go snuggle up with Barley for the remainder of the weekend, I wanted to give a quick update on my goals from the beginning of the year. Although there is always room for improvement, I realized I have already made a pretty good dent in things. Here’s where things stand:
- Make new friends and keep in touch with old ones. Barley is still my number one girl, but I have a few human friends that I have a good feeling about.
- Learn to cook. I’ve been trying really hard to cook at least a few times a week. Some recipes have been gross, but these recipes have worked and have been repeated:
- Go on an adventure. Chris and I have done a lot of exploring around Boston, recently visited Newport and will be taking our trip to London in less than a month. Mission accomplished.
