The last time I traveled to London I arrived with the very unfortunate surprise that British Airways had lost half of my luggage. Since I was coming over for 4 months, this was a bit of a problem. I had to start the school semester without any of my books, laptop charger and barely any clothes for at least two weeks. As you can imagine, I made a great first impression by starting the semester wearing the same clothes over and over again.
Needless to say, one bad experience was enough for me to learn my lesson. Ever since that stressful incident I have been a bit paranoid about losing my luggage. So when we leave for London, I will be more than ready for any sort of situation that arises on the other end of our flight. Here is what I consider to be my carry-on essentials:
- Eye mask and neck pillow for easy rest
- iPad & charger (fully stocked with my favorite books and movies)
- Travel documents: passports and itinerary, plus copies for emergencies
- A change of clothes
- Comfy socks
- Hand sanitizer
- Toothbrush & toothpaste
I am keeping my fingers-crossed that everything will be smooth sailing, or flying. But either way, I will be ready no matter what. I will hopefully arrive across the pond looking fresh faced, feeling well rested, and fully charged. See you soon London!
